    That is one beautiful Sunbonnet Sue quilt!!! She is my favorite of all. I also like the pieced with a plain fabric. I also like the Irish chain. Make for an awsome quilt!!!

    i would go wtih a darker boarder so that your eye goes to the middle, and would not take away from the wonderful Sue's. I like the pieced as the 2nd option, bu think it may be "busy", if you know what I mean.

    By the time you get the beautiful pieced border on against the white, it gives your eyes a place to rest, then you go to the border and you don't need anything else. your eyes will go back to the girls which is the focus. Just a binding in the same value as the pieced border. by the way, the quilt is really gorgeous!
