Here is a picture of a block that I'm using for a centerpiece. I'm hung up on the border/backing. I like the simple white border, but I'm hesitant to have a white backing to match it. I'm not thrilled with the green border, but would prefer something other than white on the back. What do you all think?

I like the green borders. Backing could be anything but a nice floral would be cool.

I'm one who likes to mix solids and patterns, so I'd probably find a floral or a paisley with these colors in it and use that as the backing, and possibly as a border on the front as well.

I would do an all over floral with the pinks and greens in it. I just like florals!!

Why would you have to have white on the back? I would use that green for backing. I really like the white border. It makes the beautiful piece work stand out. Not that I think a green border would make it less beautiful...but it really can speak for itself. Maybe do a really thin green binding?

I love the green fabric. I used it in a baby quilt for my first DGGD. I wish I had bought more of it. I agree with the idea of a floral background in soft colors. You did a great job on your centerpiece.

When I look at your block, I see a border of soft lilac around it. It looks so "Spring" and I think a lavender/lilac edge would really make it sing!

Why does the backing have to match the border? Is it something like your purse has to match your shoes? BTW, LOVE the block, and I like the white sashing.

I think the thin green border would be perfect also!
Did you paper piece this? Lovely!

I would do a backing that had pink & green in it.
