I'm so glad to see this! I have some of the "fake" leather that I bought as a remnant a while ago. Planned on using it as the bottom of a bag if I EVER decided to make one.
Well today, my cousin went with me to a Quilt shop in her neighborhood & lo & behold, said, " You should make me a bag." She found some pretty Orientals in the mark down area & guess who is making her a bow tucks???

really like this combination. You are correct, the fabric on dirty floors does not work well. That is my main reason for not using fabrics as much. Do you have to use a roller foot for the vinyl?

I didn't need to for this bag, since the only topping stitching on vinyl was the handles and this particular vinyl did not seem "sticky". I have another piece that is not as smooth and I may use it for that one (thanks for reminding me that I have one, lol) I might not have even thought of it.

It worked out quite well. If you are quilting your top pieces, do them before you attach them to the vinyl and I didn't put any batting behind the vinyl pieces (these are really the only changes to the assembly instructions that I needed to do, the rest went according to the pattern pretty much)

I love the vinyl idea. With the cloth bags, I'm always careful where I set them. Good job!

I love everything about your quilt!!!! Just beautiful! I am counting the days until I retire. "everything quilt" is ready and waiting. I would like to try that pattern. I got my new frame yesterday and I am sooo impressed. (we don't talk about the two in the closet) shhhhhhhh. It is the Ulmer Quilter and even I got it together with no problem and it doesn't take up much space.
