Default Bowties

Another scrappy quilt for charity. These went together quite fast. I still have not made a dent in my scrap bucket 😕

Very pretty!

I've made about 5 or 6 scrappy quilts and haven't made a dent in my scraps either lol

The background color looks vintage while the brighter bow ties give it a modern feel. Nice combination. I just watched an old western and the quilt was a bow tie block with an alternate solid block set on point. The alternate square blocks were all the same color, yellow I think. The bow ties may have been on white. Heck I can’t remember that was yesterday-lol- Great job on yours!

Nice! Bow ties can be addicting Ha Ha. Since you still have tons of scraps maybe another one with a different layout?

Great use of smaller scraps. My problem is that I have very few tone-on-tone or solids which can make for a chaotic layout LOL
Love your bow ties.

Ekew, I was thinking of more. Perhaps a couple of bed runners to add to my sisters collection for the nursing home

Would you mind posting the source of the pattern you used in your quilt? I know there are several different methods, but you said yours "went together quite fast." I could use a fast pattern that is just a bit more than stitching together charm squares. love them bow ties!

WMU. No pattern I cut bow ties at 3.5” and 2” squares to snowball the 3.5” background pieces. Then sew together as a 4P. What took time was to find the variety of scraps

Looks great! I'm making one now and find these blocks so quick and easy. Great way to use up scraps.
