Bright and simple string piecing
#16
I've been quilting since 1969, and I have some old fabric I will never use. That's what I'm using as my foundation. I probably paid $3 a yard for it. It's an ugly beige gingham that I used as background on lots of baby quilts back then. It will stay in the quilt --no removal necessary. I plan to quilt it with my longarm. If I were going to quilt it by hand, I probably would use paper and remove it.

I made my blocks 9 1/2 inches, to finish at 9 inches. But if we did it as a group project and one block was smaller, we could just trim the others down to be the same size. There really isn't too much we can do to mess this one up! Gotta love that, right? Mindless sewing is really good sometimes. I just love to stitch in JOY!!!
