I have finally finished the quilt for my brother made from his old shirts. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions for a quick easy pattern. I eventually decided on this one based on a quilt I saw in a magazine and used machine embroidery on the plain squares. My brother loves the sea and we are going on a cruise in two weeks so hopefully the quilt will remind him of the wonderful time we had (I know we are going to).

That's great! I love it. I definitely want to do a whole quilt in men's shirtings some time.

    Good job!

Very nice, I love the understated effect you got with the subtle shirting fabrics, very soothing.

Thanks so much for the kind comments. The finished quilt is so soft because of the pre - used fabric although that did make it a little difficult to work with. The blocks are not quite perfect but I am pleased with the overall effect and my brother likes it. He and his partner had good fun recognising the different fabrics. Canny
