It's me again, looking for your thoughts. (I should really find a quilting pal who lives in Mississauga!)

I'm working on a Brown Bear quilt that I plan on giving to an expecting Mom along with a copy of the book (taking the easy road on the piecing and just used a panel). I was working on the placement of the words on the border, but the brown isn't contrasting with the red like I thought it would.

Suggestions? I'm not sure if going around the letters with a satin stitch in white thread might be what the doctor called for. I was originally planning to use black thread, but I'm not sure if it will create enough impact. Any feedback you have would be appreciated.

P.S. Don't mind the cat. I'm been ignoring her all day sewing, so I just couldn't bring myself to kick her off.

Try a light color, more of a contrast. maybe a yellow?

I think I would go with doing black. Maybe even add a thin border of yellow or blue like in the panel. It may give it a little more impact. Those little guys get excited when all that color just pops up. Hope you don't mind me saying

I might try black for the lettering. BTW, great way to add some style and creativity to a panel. I love it...

Yes I think yellow or orange, would do the trick. Just thinking.

I like the idea of white around the border words -- it'll pick up the white background of the squares.
