A friend of mine recently downsized and had to get rid of all her sewing stuff. She's a very active 91 year old. She managed to save a big bucket of buckwheat at a friends home. So yesterday, she came over to my house, with her buckwheat and we used all kinds of scrap fabric and made several of these buckwheat bags. We tied a piece of scrap fabric around them and she'll give some to her friends who are in the seniors complex with her. Aren't they sweet! I know they're simple to make, but I took pictures along the way and will do a little picture tutorial on how to make them.

I think they are like the magic bags so you heat them up a little in the microwave and use them like a heating pad. My MIL make me one from rice.
