    I agree with husband - mainly because I don't thing it combines well with the dinosaurs and also because I think it is a bit effeminate.

    Dinosaurs chasing butterflies? Too much and too busy,keep it simple. Now you have another theme for another quilt, keep the butterflies for the next one.

    Besides the general comments above from others that the butterflies might be a bit too "girly" since they are larger in scale than the other prints you have chosen, my concern would be that they would compete for attention with the dinosaurs. His love is for the dinosaurs and I'd want to make sure to pick out fabrics and a pattern that will highlight them.

    Yeah, sorry, I'd lose the butterlies too, for an 8 year old. If this was a baby quilt, I think you could have gotten away with it! Also, I'd choose a different blue. The small plaids that are exactly the same will not be as interesting visually than if you have a different scale and/or design.

    I think I'd leave the butterfly print out completely and fussy cut some dinosaurs.
