So beautiful! I love the way you have set this up. I am not familiar with this pattern. Is "Butterfly Blooms" the actual pattern name? I'd love to find that pattern.

    Gorgeous!

I searched for it and found several sites to go to for it. The one I went to is the Seam Shoppe. I love Pats choice of fabrics so much.

Knock my socks off! This is so pretty. The quilting is gorgeous too. What pattern is this? You mentioned "Amish feeling"...I don't know what this means?

Pat, the beauty still shows up! I love those corners, and the butterfly with the flower. Like your fabrics. will you be posting a pic of Chris' quilt? nice to see a comparison/option...so put one of yours back on thread.
Maybe you could use flash and just back up a little? dunno, just a suggest. :D

I"ve always thought of Amish quilts having dark or black backgrounds, with bright colors added. That is why I said this has an Amish feeling.
    It is called "Butterfly Blooms".

Pat, thanks for the explaination of "Amish Quilts." Years ago I lived in the East and a co-worker did an Amish country vacation...stayed in Amish homes and visited Amish communities. He learned that each community ofAmish have a speciality which they make and sell as income for their community. One community of Amish may make Grandfather clocks (it takes a year from the time you order a clock til you get it), another community makes quilts. The Amish women always used their stark blacks, browns, gray/charcoal colors like they do for their own use quilts but these didn't sell well so they started adding color to their quilts. Don't know if its the color added but I'm told Amish quilts are quite sought after these days. That's the information my friend brought back with him from his Amish vacation tour. Besides ordering a clock he also ordered quilts for his Christmas gifts (dang, I wish I was on that Christmas list!)
