I loved finding the fabrics for the trees. Although the pointed trees intimidated me, I love them the most.

I also had to be sure and put a little pink house in there ala John Cougar Mellencamp.

This is a pretty fast quilt (if you don't go by my haphazard timeline!) once you have the cutting done. I think I spent the most time simply picking out the fabrics. Not sure how I want it quilted. The book shows it done with horizontal lines, then diamonds created at an angle. I like the way it looks but not sure if that's what I want or not.

Hopefully I'll have a completed top to post tomorrow!

wolfkitty - would love to hear about your idea!!
Great quilt! I especially like the lil pink house for John Cougar Mellencamp. I will be watching for your in progress pics. I am going to add this quilt to my project list. Is cabin in the woods the name of the book or quilt pattern?

I love how you have chosen to do this scrappy, AND the reference to John Cougar Mellencamp too :D:D:D

I did that quilt! I love it, tho I haven't quilted mine as yet. I posted a picture of it somewhere here on this board. Love your choices of colors.

The book is called "Quick Quilts from your Scrap Bag". Most of the quilts don't look "quick" but this one is. I want to do another from the book called Funky Chicken. It's hilarious and adorable.
