Here is the top of the quilt I am making for my sister. I deconstructed my row of the month mystery quilt from Clotilde because it was way too big, and am using just one block from each month.
I need to choose a border now. I have the same fabric as the sashing in blue, it says each month and the flower. But I'm concerned that would be a little too repetitive. My sister tends towards hunter green and browns in her decor, with some colors of nature thrown in. Since this is a quilt about the year as it passes, I don't think I will think too much about her decor tho.

I have a leafy print that coordinates with the border around the September block I could use as border. I have several green prints if green is the color I should go with.

The month isn't on the block, it is just representative. Such as the snowflake for January, the heart for February, the clover for March etc. The sashing between the blocks with the writing says "Chrysanthymum for October", "Poincettia for December", etc. for each month, repeated over and over in fancy script with a little pic of each flower.
I'm very open to suggestions for the border/s.

Aww, thank you Jabear, it's true, when I am making a quilt for someone, thoughts of that person are with me from start to finish!! That helps me put the love in I am sure.
