Can show this now!
I finished this quilt and the recipient has said she loves it. I can't tell you how relieved I am feeling. It is so hard to translate someone's else vision into your own as I was never good at reading minds. She liked Mariner's Star pattern from Pinterest by Judy Martin which I tracked down with help from you all. The background is white with light lavendar spotches and a tinge of yellow in the flocking. I auditioned, ripped, tried again to get something that would suit me and I hoped, her. Then, the episode with the blue pen described in the main section of this forum after it was completely finished. Well, tada! Here it is. Coincidentally, we were in Madison County, Iowa, to view the bridges. The Iowa Quilt Museum is located in Winterset, the county seat. I just glanced in and saw the Quilts on display were all made by Judy Martin. In spite of it being our 48th anniversary, my DH is a good sport and agreed to go in and humor me. Wow!!! Supernova is One. Spectacular. Quilt! He enjoyed it but chose another as his favorite. She didn't have any on display that featured this pattern and I had hoped there would be, nor were any of the quilts on display in the second-floor bed turning that featured this one. Hope you all have a good week. On to the next quilting project!
PS Her kids came to me and wanted me to do this to surprise her. It was a tad bit late so it was probably a real surprise. It just took a while, about 5 weeks, for me to piece it and then it was hand quilted not by me, but a local Amish lady.
