After tooling around on the internet awhile, I found this weblink http://gnomeangel.com/category/arts-...ing-triangles/ of a quilter who took Jenny's class. If you scroll to just above the half-way mark of the page, you'll see photos of how it's laid out.

when I made mine it was called 'corn and beans'. In Monique Dillard's book 'Fat Quarter Winners', it is 'spades'......

I have responded twice to this thread and I am determined this will stay on my to do list until I have one done in batiks. I am giving my third thought on what I think it is, and I believe I have found it. This pattern was published in 2001.

    Hi NanaC,
Here is my rendition of Sunshine and Shade by Mabeth Oxenreider. It doesn't appear to me to be the same as the OP's picture, but this may give you some ideas for your own project.

It is really odd to see someone writing a pattern for my original design. It is original - not Corn and Beans or North Wind. In fact I hunted many block encyclopaedias to see if it had been done before. It is not made on point either.

I am not sure how I feel about seeing it written up like this when I am currently writing a book about it - though I am thrilled with the level of interest. That is promising for my Shimmer book!

The pattern above is not quite right as you do not allow enough for the half square triangles.

Please though - before you write up patterns for someone else's quilts - why not check with the maker? I have a website with a contact link.

On the plus side though - if you make one I would love it for the book! You can search for my website, and click the contact link. I am pretty good at answering when I am home in Australia.
