    I just inherited my neighbor's stash. There are 19 of these blcks ready to sew together. Just wanted to know what it is..

    I like it too. After finding 19 of them made up already I found more that were cut up and ready to be sewed together so I'll end up with 26. They are 10 inch blocks. Really sorry the woman died but am happy to keep her quilts going.

    not sure what it is called, tried calling my friend am sure she has done this block before but she wasn't home. So next best thing went to my favorite site to look for ideas

    hmmm--when I made some like it from scraps... skinny strips sewed together and cut into squares and sewed together in that windmill fashion...someone called it Rail Fence. But... I'm not sure.

    I also think it is a variation of a rail fence, have seen it in pattern books and thats what they call it.

    That's a surprise to hear. I've done a rail fence int he past but don't remember what it looked like. Guess I should look it up.

    This is th e split rail fence I did for my first quilt. Doesn't seem to look the same. Your right though it could be a variation.
