I would suggest this too... maybe even expand a little in the book on how you are so anxiously awaiting your grandchilds arrival, gave this to Mom on Mother's Day as you couldn't wait until the baby shower or the birth. This would mean a lot to your DGC in the future :D:D:D

Congratulations! Being a Grama is the best!!

Hi. well you could write in the book saying something like, i couldn't wait till you arrived etc and keep the same pen with the quilt to finish writing when they do arrive. stating the date you made it etc. its sort of a little story about how exicted you were. the only thing your adding later is the baby's name?

You must have been a child bride Pattie!!! I have trouble keeping up with 6 grandchildren less alone 23 and then great grandkids!!! How amny kids did you have?

As far as the label I think I would just put made with love Grandma and date it 2011. If you want to add baby's name it can be done after its born. Congratulations!! I think grandkids are such a blessing!!! My MIL says they keep you young but I think I will have to disagree with her on this lol (only after keeping 1-4 at a time lol)

Congrats - Its a beautiful quilt and its unisex lol It will make your daughter smile and she will remember this mothers day for a long time to come!! cheryl :D

Congratulations! Now I can keep a secret but I don't know about you though. You just told everyone here on the board!
As for the label, I would would do something like this:

To my daughter and Baby ________ (Last Name)
I couldn't wait to give this to you. Made with love by Grandma (______) 2011
