Very cute quilt, no matter what you use for the backing.

Yours is the first Golliwog quilt I've seen, very nice job!

Golly! Thank you all very much! I went with a flannel design that is quite different from the front. I think the backing is sweet enough to be given a turn at being the upside too!

It's my own ideas rather than based on a pattern though I look through loads of pics of stuff before I decide. It's just one of these things that you know ( or hope you know!) when you've plumped for the right thing. I swapped the coloured bands around the strips to pull the bands together and tried to keep the bulk of the top 'soft' to compliment the strong primary colours.

Have attached a pic of the quilt ready for quilting which is now underway.

That is one adorable quilt. Lucky is the child who gets it!

Fleece is warm enough and I have used it as the batting, but not usually as the backing. I like the idea of making the quilt double sided, too.

    Decisions, decisions!

Cute. If for a little one I would do fleece for the softness

Okay, I just have to ask. What is a "Golliwog" . . . and why?

Good job. I agree with Neesie that it depends on the intended usage.
