car cozy - boy gift
I know this is not a quilt, but it was so much fun to make!
Pattern - from "Simple Quilts & Sewing" magazine (Winter), p. 87
Fabric from my stash - had to buy the grosgrain ribbon.
(Changes to pattern: I sewed the road stripes down - pattern called for fusing only. The ribbon handle was to be tied - I sewed two loops -a long and short one - pull the long one through the short one and done. Added initials that will be appliqued on - right now they're just fused. I've already made a second one and appliqued those before final assembly. The road was supposed to be flannel, but I made with regular black cotton.)

My grandsons are 4 and 5 so I think they'll love these. I'd think it would go from 3 to almost 8? Depends on the boy, of course. Could be modified for any small toys - little animals with a playscape, etc. The way it folds the toys won't fall out.

Bonitagaye - do I ever hear you. I simply do not know how these "babies" got to be 4 (don't say that! He's 4-and-a-half!) and 5 (and-a-half). I've been waiting for a new one, but ... no sign yet!
