    Love your placemats! Your mum will use them with pride.
    You mention sewing down binding on machine - for placemats I always do that because you will have to re-sew several times in the lifetime of the mats if you do it by hand - I've learnt from my mistake and I have made umpteen mats over the years Thanks for sharing

    Very cool. The way you have them laid out, it would make a great design for a modern quilt.
