    Default Cargo Duffel

My oldest DGD goes off to college soon, so I wanted to make her something to carry her stuff. I used a free pattern from http://noodle-head.com/2013/10/cargo...t-kaufman.html and some recycled coordinated decorator cottons for my version. It was a snap to put together with the good directions provided.

That duffle bag looks fantastic. That's the same pattern I've been studying because I want to make one just like that before next spring for a high school graduation gift. Yours turned out so pretty. Now that you've made one do you have any tips, suggestions, pattern changes, deletions, etc. that you would do differently on a second one? Did you use velcro for the front pocket closures instead of snaps? Did you put a lining in yours w/pockets? I know the pattern does not call for lining/interior pockets. I like it because it's not to large & not to small....just about the right size, it seems.

I'm totally impressed! I have a pattern or two for bags but tend to struggle with making them look nice like yours--so jealous!
