Carpenter's Wheel finished
#23
I like the wheel/star it self and the print border, but like you i'm not crazy about the white border. I think once done it will be a very beautiful quilt. Looks like you did a great job at making it. If nothing else finish it up and have a gift ready for when you need one but can't get it done in time. I'd love receiving a pretty quilt like this, I'm sure others would too.

Lessons learned. But, I personally think you are being too hard on yourself. Your piecing is perfection, love the white, and, it is a completed top!!!! Go for it...get it quilted...maybe using varigated thread....This is when you really will know what it can be. You will have something to be proud of.

I think it's pretty but if you don't like it or won't finish it rather then putting it in a pile to never see the light of day why don't you let someone that is just starting out with a LA or MA practice on it and then if you still don't like it you could donate it? I have a friend that LA quilts and she did that for me. She made a top that didn't come out as well as she'd hoped and she gave me the top, backing and batting and told me to have fun...do whatever I want on it. I'm still practicing on my own but appreciate that the 1st one I do for someone else doesn't have too much stress attached to it!
