Fantastic quilt. Where on earth did you get the fabric for the Dick and Jane blocks. What a fabulous gift for a retiring Elem. teacher. I am a retired 1st grade teacher and ever one of the blocks brings back so many memories. If she didn't have tears I don't know why. Thanks for sharing this darling quilt. Are the signatures from collegues? What beautiful memories she will have each time she looks at this wonderful gift.

Thank you so much for all your kind words. To answer your questions~~~
* The vintage prints in the shadow box were fussy cut from Windham's "American Vintage by Showoffs, Pattern #30679, and it is currently available. The little bear and the alphabet and number charts were all fussy cut from a very old panel meant for a cloth book, "When I Grow Up, I Want to Be...."
* Yes, the autographs are those of her current colleagues.
* The idea of donating teaching materials to the Moore, OK teachers is a wonderful idea; however, she had already 'willed' her stash to a fresh graduate who will begin teaching her first year this Fall.
* The quilt was given to her last week at a retirement party in her honor; and yes, she teared up. Unlike some quilt recipients, she knows what is involved in quilt making and is extremely appreciative.
Thank all of you again for your compliments!!!
