    Default Celtic Solstice

I think I am calling this done . I was going to add one more border but have decided, thanks to lots people on the Celtic Solstice Facebook page, to quilt it and bind it with blue. This is a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt, started the day after Thanksgiving and the last clue given "as the ball dropped" on New Year's Eve. The pattern is free and will be on her quiltville Web site for awhile longer. Then she will take it done and include it in a book.

This quilt was a big stretch for me. I am not fond of green and to do not like orange at all. But I trusted Bonnie and followed her color suggestions ( though I did throw in some magenta - my favorite color) . I used a lot of batiks and other fabrics I already had to make it super scrappy.

I tried to post a close up so you can see my fabrics, but the loading of the picture failed. I will try again.

    Thanks for looking!

This is beautiful! I have the fabrics but haven't started it yet. Just finished Lazy Sunday using the colors she suggested. They are not my colors either but the quilt top is so happy and colorful. It just makes me smile!

You did a great job. thanks for sharing!

I also used Bonnie's suggested colors....out of my comfort zone and I love it. It is so fun to see all the different choices used by the quilters...each one is special in it's own way. Love yours♥. I would have never thrown in magenta but it really makes it pop. Thanks for sharing your photo. I need to learn to think outside of the "box"!

Fantastic quilt! I love the colors, the movement, and I think the subdued piano keys border makes the center really pop. The dark binding will bring it all together again. Good job!
