Challenge wall hanging

I made this up for a my quilt guild challenge as a fundraiser. We I made this up for a my quilt guild challenge. It will sold in a silent auction as a fundraiser for the children`s hospital auxiliary.
We received four fat quarters, or almost fat quarters to use in just about anything. Luckily we could introduce other fabrics, but had to use at least three of the given ones.
I kept it simple for the most part in the piecing section. Got out my embroidery/quilting threads & trusty colored pencils to add another layer of color, plus used my Coined Ruched Blossom Guide from Laura Estes for the compass centre.
I started it on Friday, August 27, because it was due on Tuesday, August 31. Yes, I did have the fabrics for months and need a little pressure to get going. I know that I`m not the only one in that boat.
Do you leave things go to the last minute?
