Some of you may have seen Charismah's post that she had sent some of her tops out to others because she just doesn't have time to quilt them herself.
I was honored that Charismah sent a few to me to do. I felt like the master had entrusted the student and I sure hope she likes what I have done. She gave me carte blanche to quilt however I wanted.

This is the first one. As soon as I opened this lap quilt I knew it was ALL about the Amy Butler fabric and the quilt told me immediately to echo the fabric design in the focus blocks with the big bold floral. The modified log cabins got whimisical different design in each row of the block.

Finally the side borders got a modified hook feather where I did not close the feathers to give it a more fern like appearance keeping with the whimsical botonical theme of the quilt. I liked the result and have decided to call it Dr. Suess trees because it reminds me of Dr. Suess drawings.

How funny that Charisma sends her quilts out to be longarmed.... how ever I know the feeling. We longarmers never get our own quilts on the table... let alone sew.
