Charity Quilt for Congenital Deaphragmatic Hernia
#1
This quilt is what I made to donate to a fundraiser for CDH. CDH is an absence of a childs diaphragm or a hole in the diaphragm. The stomach, intestines, liver and spleen may go through the hole. This prevents the lungs from developing. The fundraiser is called Caden's Carnival. It is a carnival atmosphere to raise money for CDH in the name of Caden Frericks. He was born with this and unfortunately passed away shortly after his birth. His parents have held this fundraiser since his passing. My local quilt shop did the quilting as a donation to the fundraiser. It is A to Z quilting in Quincy, Illinois. The event is being held October 23. Hope they raise a lot of money. Thanks for looking. I like the way it turned out. Not bad for a newbie.

Very nice quilt!
Do you know if they plan to raffle it off or put it in a silent auction? There have been several threads on this topic. Raffling a quilt usually brings in a *lot* more money than silent auction. In some cases, the quilter would have been better off donating cash to the charity because the silent auction did not even cover the cost of materials. If it were me, I would want to check this out.
