Default Charity Quilt for the Intellectually Disabled

Our guild is making quilts for a nursing home that has a ward for intellectually-disabled teenagers. These children will always have the mental capacity of a one-year old. Everything in the ward is gray so the nursing home requested quilts for the cribs that were cheerful. They hope to make the ward more colorful for visiting family and staff. Here is a disappearing nine-patch quilt with a bright raw-edge applique flower that I made for them.

Aw, what a wonderful project. I love the quilt you've made. I know it will definitely bring a little cheer.

What a thoughtful request on the nurses parts as well.

They are going to love that beautiful quilt. The appliqued flower is perfect & the quilting is outstanding. Thanks for making the quilt for them.

That is an awesome way to bring color in, although why they wouldn’t have color for children like that is just beyond me. Hopefully you all will provide what they are lacking.

Very pretty colors. Even 1 yr. olds like colors. Lots of things in life I don't get.

That will definitely brighten things up. Nice job.

It must be very difficult dealing with a teenager with only a 1-year-old's intelligence. How unfortunate! We must count our blessings.
