Charity tote bags
Making busy bags for Sadies Dream For A Cure. I needed more kid friendly blenders so I purchased the stack left front from Marshalls Dry Goods. Also needed blenders for the Moda fabrics in the stack on the right front side. I'm thinking I don't need to wash fabrics or should I? Anyone else used their fabric for the busy bags? Hmmm. Please share your thoughts as I'm anxious to get more sewn together. Thanks

Here are my Sadie's Dream bags. The one on the left is their fabric and the one on the right is my fabric. I washed the fabric first to be sure to remove the sizing that might not be good for kids in hospitals. It didn't look like the fabric they sent had been washed. I wash mine in mesh bags (like for lingerie). I don't think the washing is as important with the bags as it would be with quilts that would touch the kids' skin.

Sadies Dream For A Cure supplies the pattern, fabric, Pellon fusible, and label to make first bag. Another label is mailed along with it to encourage you to make a tote bag with your fabrics. I'm pretty sure they will mail you kits if you don't have fabric, though. Here is there link. http://www.sadiesdreamforacure.org

Great looking bags ladies! Thank you for helping out. I wash all of my fabrics when they come in the door. But I am sure they can't wash their fabric as they get bolts of it and it is easier for them to just cut the pieces off the bolts and not bother with washing.

I fold up the bags and put them in a box. But also include toys, books, crayons, shampoo, tooth paste, ect. The organization packs the bags when they are going to deliver them to the hospitals.
