After some consideration
I decided I didn't like the church very much as I think it gave quite a masculine feel to the quilt and Amy is quite the opposite. Plus I couldn't reconcile myself with the lumpy back so I decided drastic action was needed. I think the quilt is probably now as good as it's going to get and is off to Glasgow in the morning to await its new owner arriving for her Christmas holidays. Would I do this again - No! Ha ha but it sure has been a learning experience. I quilted the back and front separately so that the front didn't wreck the poem, then once I got it in place I unpicked the quilting around the church and re-did it as I knew that part wouldn't interfere with the back. I chose to embroider flowers around the edge as the theme of her wedding was the secret garden. The heart of course ties in with the label. Amy's mum lives across the road from Queens Cross Church so it seemed quite appropriate. I've so glad to see this one finished
