    No need for graph paper unless you want to do a balanced color arrangement. All the pattern requires is 2 1/2" squares. It takes five to make a plus sign and you put it together by rows.

    I laid it out one quarter at a time.

    A design board is the most important tool in making this pattern. Keeping the placement of fabric is the priority.

    As far as the placement of each fabric, I just put similar colors near each other as a general rule and one color led to another so there are little groups of similars near each other.
