@sewmanyideas - that does sound right - Tanya Whelan for Westminster? They are beautiful and feel SOOO good. This was the first quilt I made that had such luscious fabrics. I pieced it back in January and just now am getting it finished.

I've commented on here before that my mother is a "block flipper" - checking how seams meet, etc. That is quite intimidating! I'm 57 years old so really should be used to this by now. I now know that she's not making a critical statement necessarily - I'm sure her mother flipped her blocks, too! So I just don't show her anything that's not finished.

I don't always miter corners - shocking, I know - but made sure to do it for this one - block flippers like their corners mitered. :)

sound like my mother...and she does NOT quilt...tried to teach her, she made one, gave it to my sister and gave me back all of the stuff I had given her to quilt with...it was her Christmas present..$500 of supplies... oh well...I should have known better...

Mother crocheted before her hands got too arthritic to continue. The last thing she made before she gave it up was an afghan for me. She never quilted that I know of, but her mother was an expert! I have high standards to live up to. BUT... in the beautiful quilts I have from my grandmother there are some .. unmitered corners (gasp!), some machine stitched bindings (Oh no!), and some quite awful double knits. I treasure them all and know that my mother will treasure this one.
