    That is designing, and as most everyone said that is why the stitches were put into the machine - WE wanted to use them!!! LOL And it doesn't take as long as if doing it by hand (which I do love to do on small projects)

    That looks adorable. There is no such word as cheating when you are designing with decorative stitches.

    The stitches generally hold very well and if you do your math before - hand, you don't have to worry about the corners because the pattern will fit exactly and be placed where you want it to go.Not every quilt 'tells' you to cover it with elaborate stitches and sometimes 'less is more'.

    Nope, not cheating. I use them as often as I can in my doll quilts and hangings. I belive it can enhance the project.

    I just used decorative stitches on a table runner yesterday.Looks grrrreat!!!

    not cheating and it looks really good, if your machine does fancy stitches then there is nothing wrong with using them. My machine does it too and I have used them :thumbup:
