Check out my Treasure

Stopped at a garage sale yesterday and look what I brought home. It was only $4....I couldn't believe it! As I picked it up, I asked if anybody there knew a story behind that quilt. A gal ....probably mid 50's to 60 spoke up and said that was made by her grandmother on her "pedal" Singer machine. She also added that there was no stuffing in it because it was made as a summer quilt. Of course, I was already buying it...but the story to go with it made it even more fun to get. There is not even 1 hole in it and was kept nicely because it isn't very yellowed either. I think it was saved more than used. Anyways, I am very happy to be the new owner of this lovely piece.

I saw a Dresden plate top at a garage sale yesterday but it was so stained and they wanted way to much for it. They also had so packages of blocks probably from the early 1900's as the fabric was very thin and course. They had high prices on them so I passed. I didn't have much money.
