i learn something every day, here. i've been abusing an old card table given me years ago to the point where i'm going to have to refinish it to make it truly usable--but it turns out that it's a featherweight table. ignorance is bliss. i'm going to have to sand and /or wax the top, i fear--but the joy is that today i got a lead on a featherweight, so it may be worth the effort!

It's awesome and one year older than mine is. I would open and clean it myself if it is working. And just oil it and done with it. The simplest machine on earth in my book. Good luck. You will love her.

Oh...you ARE lucky! What a great find. Tell us how it sews when you get it back. I've heard these machines make the perfect 1/4" seam!
