Here are the first two blocks of "Checkerboard Flowers,"

    http://www.storyquilts.com/html/chec...d_flowers.html

which is a block of the month I've been working on. I got the first block "Winter Roses," and then two weeks later, I got the second block "Crocuses Up." I was behind before I ever got started. Fortunately, I'm all caught up now. (I'll probably get another one tomorrow.)

I finished the "Rose" block several weeks ago, but didn't post it because the borders were wrong. I had dark squares butting up against dark squares and light against light. I thought about it, compared it to the pattern picture, etc., trying to figure out what I needed to do to fix it. Finally, I ended up just taking the borders off and resewing them. Ordinarily, I'm not that fussy about my blocks. As I get better at quilting, I expect more from myself. I knew that would stick out like a sore thumb if I left it as is.

I hope you like my blocks.

Crocuses Up--the colors are a little off. What appears to be navy blue is actually royal purple

Very pretty. I love them both. I wish I could do half as well as you.

Was this a BOM with the fabric included? My favorites are floral quilts. I have a couple BOM patterns if you are interested. One is "Welcome to My Garden".

Sorry, I had not clicked on the link you provided. Answered my own question. Like most BOM kits, there are always a couple blocks I'm not crazy about - not talking about your great quilting, but the patterns provided in the set. I just do a little adapting if I'm not completely satisfied with a particular flower pattern.
