    Hi Maggie,

The fabric really has to give or stretch. If you can find flannel that does that, it would be great.

I like it. I got the pattern too and I'm just waiting until I can get my daughter's quilt done and then I want to make the turbans. Thanks for sharing.

Here are more turbans and fabrics. I have made 14 so far. Some are made of t-shirt knits, some of stretchy velour, some of lightly stretchy soft terry cloth, and I have a new fabric I just bought still to make that is a stretch satin, so it can be worn at night and will "slide" on the pillow, and will keep bare heads warm. Hope you all like them. I got this pattern from another user. Not sure of the protocol for posting a tutorial when this is not my design or original post. I will contact her and ask. Fabric is from Beverly's, JoAnn's, and Hancock, but will also get some online.
I love your 2 turbans. Very attractive. Look forward to seeing your new fabrics made up.

I haven't made a trip to the store yet for fabric. Hope to next weekend at the latest.

Where is a good place to get a "head"?

I got my styrofoam head at a beauty supply store, but don't recall which one. Don't think it matters, though - likely they all have some. Quite inexpensive, also, and very useful. Good luck and happy turban sewing.

This pattern is great because it gives you a little fullness. I had a couple that fit close to the head & I just looked like I had painted color on my bald head.I could never find any that looked cheerful. Pastel colors are good as they keep you from looking so pale & sickly. I had a black one & always felt like I looked like it was going to be my last day so I never wore it. My favorite that I wore to bed was made from a knit that was satin on the outside & sort of flannel on the inside and it wouldn't get stuck on the pillowcase...yes, I wore it to bed because my head would get cold at night. Thanks again for doing this...you are going to add some cheer to someone who needs it!!
Namjam: I like your comment about a nightcap. My BFF went through chemo and complained of a cold head at night. I had a really nice long sleeved t-shirt, which unfortunately I "outgrew" Had fancy stitching on the cuffs, and neckline. On impulse, I cut off one sleeve, cut off the shoulder curve, added narrow elastic turned under, tied a knot about half way down and gave it to her to try. She loved it! Said it kept her warm, and felt like she had a pony tail hanging down, so it added some sensation of hair. Even years later (she's an 8 yr. survivor of breast CA) she still refers to that one as her favorite of all the ones I made her! LOL. Just show what you can do when you improvise.
