I finally put the binding on this this week! I made it with the leftovers from my Cherry Surprise quilt and left it sit for a while not wanting to quilt it.

Well, I took a class on the longarm quilting machine at the LQS and practiced on this one. It turned out really well! I did a loopdy-loop kind of quilting pattern. I had fun with it, which surprised me as I don't like quilting on my machine. The longarm was SO much easier.

So it's finally done and we are using it! It's even been washed already.

I think this is so nice! Reminds me of one of my grandmothers. She sewed a lot (don't know if she quilted) and had this beautiful cherry tree in her backyard. We'd go visit her and Grandpa every year during the summer. Sometimes we'd luck out and it would be cherry picking time and I'd get to help her make cherry jelly. Of course I ate my share of it as well! ;-) I'd love to make this quilt some day.

I LOVE cherries! They don't love me so much... but I eat them anyway. :0) I live near Door County which is famous for their cherries. Haven't picked there, but a lot of friends/family do. Then they freeze the cherries for pies and stuff in the winter.

The quilt is sweet and your quilting is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
