I don't have any advise because I don't hand quilt, but I wanted to say how pretty and different your quilt is. Very nicely done!

Really really great quilt! I love the back and boy....it was a surprize! At first I thought it was a close up of one of the front blocks and I said to myself....my, that is a BIG block!! Maybe I misread the size of this quilt!  Its really great..can't wait to see it quilted. :D

Beautiful quilt! And Cherries! Always near and dear to me. Gramps had a cherry farm. We got to spend summers there. Miss that place!

What a bright and cheery quilt. It looks wonderful!! I don't hand quilt either, but I think that quilted cherries in the borders would look great!

I just measured the big block on the back and the white is 44" tall by 42" wide- I used the whole piece I had left after making the border so I had not measured it yet. (I am not much of a measurer.)

To get the cherries to be that big, I drew the individual components onto a big piece of paper a bunch of times, getting bigger and bigger each time. When I thought I had it close enough to right, I cut them out for a pattern. It was awkward to work with such big pieces of fabric, but it was worth it!

I did have to make the leaves twice because the first time they were too small. So now I am going to make some slightly smaller cherries to go with those leaves as I have another cherry quilt in the works. I had made 48 cherry applique squares originally, thinking to set them 6 x 8, so I have 18 left after making this quilt. I have a setting block in mind for them, but don't know when I'll get to it. My friend that I showed that design to said she will like it better than this one, so we'll see. I'll have to take a vote when they are both done.
