    This is awesome...you did a great job..
    Free hand work has no feed dogs/stitch length. I use Hemingworth and Madera embroidery thread.

    Forgot to ask ...... what kind of thread do you use for the thread painting? Is it polyester or something else? Do you use the same thread on the backside as the front? Can I assume that you do the thread painting before you make your quilt sandwich?
    This piece was done directly on the background with a stabilizer and then sandwiched with batting and canvas. I use a regular or lightweight thread in the bobbin and embroidery threads on top.
