    Default Chicken wall hanging

My ex sis-in-law and her hubby are so kind and gracious when I visit NY each summer. They have chickens that my DGKs love to watch. So I wanted to make her a little something as a thank you gift. I got this pattern years ago at a quilt show... it was included with a sample of Thinsulate batting... which I don't really care for... it's too 'soft' for my taste. You will notice on the back that I did the backing in two pieces. I added the sleeve in that seam. Then, when I SITD around the 'frame, the top of the sleeve gets sewn into that stitching... I'll do almost anything to avoid hand sewing LOL. I used Quilter's Invisible Nylon Thread to zigzag the appliques on ... except the beak is done in regular black thread.
