    Default Chickens in my studio

I machine embroidered raw edge applique chickens. After washing, the raw edges fluff out. I've never done raw edge applique before. I was unsure about the unfinished look of it, but, I decided it gives the chickens a country look. It was fun picking fabric scraps that looked like chickens. I really like the speckled ones. The design is from Embroidery Library. I decided to make potholders as I have made several large quilts that now need long arm quilting. I need to finish projects, not add to my UFO closet, yes, closet. I'm sure you understand.

How cute! The little speckled one is my favorite, but the others are really cute also. I am a fan of real live chickens. They think they are so self-reliant as they go skittering along on those skinny legs. And they are so productive!

I purchased those designs too. I appreciate you posting the finished look. I did not really know if I would like the raw edges, but yours look great. I am a chicken fanatic with a pen full of beautiful Cochins and want to make mine in colors that resemble my favorite hens.
