    Oh, that is a treasure. Great idea for the 'x'.

    Congrats on your first grandchild. Now, you'll have to make an ABC quilt....or something just as special... for all the other grandkids that come along.

    That is absolutely gorgeous!! That will be one very loved grandbaby!!

    May I be bold enough to point one thing out? Buttons no matter how well they are sewn on become a choking hazard for babies. Just imagine those sharp little teeth and how quickly they can chew through a few threads.

    I'd suggest keeping the buttons separate and when she is three and is more understanding of these things make it a project for the two of you to sew the buttons on for her as she learns her ABC's.

    Sorry to point that out but I really don't want to see this picture in an "OMG I can't believe this happened" post down the road.

    PS... I have been saying the same thing about giving rag quilts to babies for years but I still see postings every now and then of gorgeous rag quilts that I cringe at.
