    You may be able to stitch at batch together and cut them to the length you want to use. I conbined pieces left over from several quilt, if I thought it would blend in, I used it.
    I cut mine 2 1/2 inches. Don't remember how long each of the trips were, it wouldn't matter, just what ever size yoy think will look nice.
