Default Christmas Gifts Have Officially Been Started.

I took advantage of the long holiday weekend to get a start on my planned Christmas gifts. I was on a roll and finished 2 of my planned 4 quilt tops. They are around 60" square and what I like to call couch quilts. This was actually the first projects made on my new Juki TL-2000 QVP mini and I am really enjoying the machine.

Originally I planned to make matching house quilts for everyone, but I got the first 3 houses finished and realized I didn't want to make another 61. Instead, I just picked a few blocks that I wanted to make and made multiples, then slapped them together. When the width wasn't what I wanted, I padded it with sashes and borders. You can also see that one of the original houses I made actually made it into the first top. Poor thing is wonky and off scale, but I felt bad not including it.

Has anyone else started making Christmas gifts?

    Thanks for looking!

Your quilts look fab! It was an excellent choice to switch your original plan once you decided you were not going to enjoy making the same block over and over. I am working on a quilt to give my brother for Christmas, but I find I am having to really push myself into working on it. I think it's because my brother and I are not really close more than the quilt itself, though.

I've been thinking about Christmas gifts. Does that count? Nice quilts you have done. Wish I was that far into the process.

Both are very pretty. My favorite is the first. Love that orange and the designs of the blocks.
