    Thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It certainly has been a healing process. Maggie Sue you suggested that one should be for me - I do have some small pieces left and will try to make another one for me at some point. Mary, the pattern I used for the bears is Simplicity #8044. It is a very simple pattern with just 2 pieces and includes directions for dogs and bunnies too.

    Wonderful - I tried to make a quilt top using my deceased husbands neck ties but didn't stick with it. Happy to see a fellow quilter so close to Superior - do I know yoiu?
