I really like this quilt. Very different but it is very pleasing to the eye.

Thank you! I was worried that it was going to be too dark, but I like how it's coming together. Plus, I have a really fun minty green fabric with tiny brown dots that I'll use for a border, and that should brighten it up. I'd like to quilt it with snowflakes in each dark brown diamond. Maybe I'll do the snowflakes in a shiny silver thread so they'll really pop. Is there anything I have to worry about, with using a metallic thread? Does anyone know? (Does such a thing even exist? I'm such a newbie!)

Use a needle for metallic thread and loosen your tension just a bit if you have to if will turn out just great!! Cool Quilt by the way!

Thank you! I think I'm going to hand quilt it, but I'll check at Joann's to see if there are special hand sewing needles for metallic thread. I think that'll be fun!

Sometimes mistakes don't turn out to be mistakes. I love the way the blocks look. It makes the blocks less boxy. I think it looks fabulous. You're already starting for next Christmas. Good for you.

I like the effect of the corners cut off. At first I thought you had appliqued the squares with rounded corners. And that's how great new designs are born.

All you need to do now is think up a name for your "new" design. CHOCOLATE BOXES by JenelTX?

"Cutting off the corners" looks intentional and very appealing. Nice work so far!
