    Default Christmas Stockings

A short 60 years ago my mother started knitting Christmas stockings. It "grew like Topsey" and she knit for the extended family and husbands and Grands. She started in wool but switched sometime to acrylic as the white wool deteriorated too quickly. I still have my original, yellowed but preserved. (And the name on my husbands' stocking has been changed ...twice. LOL ).
But I realized a short while age, my DSD and her husband (who are more frequent visitors than my two unmarried sons, didn't have stockings. I didn't have the pattern to knit one, ( my niece has it) so I stitched cloth, quilted stockings. So now, for now, the scene is complete.

You did an amazing job replicating the knitted ones with quilting. Maybe a new tradition has been started.

Clever, matching the knitted ones with a quilted pieced one. GREAT match.

How clever of you! The stockings fit in so nicely that it does complete the picture of the the stockings all hung on the mantel. I know it sounds crazy, but a bell is missing on the toes.
