Love this. Also like the fact that you're making use of your orphan blocks!

Thanks everyone! I think I have now used all the orphan blocks I'm going to. I gave a bunch of them to a friend for her mom that quilts to use. It feels really good to create something from someone else's unfinished stuff but I'm ready to start working on things I want to make again! Once it cools down I have a nice stack of quilt tops to practice some quilting on (my LA is in the garage and it's in the 100's outside right now...and no air conditioning in the garage!).

Very cute and you would never know they are orphans. They have a family now.

Really cute, and I love when I don't have to piece the backing

What a wonderful thing to have inherited! I keep my orphan blocks (testers or extras) in pizza boxes (the cardboard is better for wicking any moisture from handling) labeled xmas, patriotic, kids, etc) and add them to the front of plain tote bags to use instead of gift bags. You can make plain totes bags for less than gift wrap costs and it is an extra gift. Folks think it is wonderful and I am basically using up my 'trash'. Also, I back some of them in a plain cotton, fold in half and have a wine bag. Nicer than giving a hostess a naked bottle of wine.

What a great idea! Too bad I gave all those extras away!

That looks really good. It's so satisfying to get orphan blocks in a quilt and finished.
