That is wonderful to hear that story of the cardinals. They have always shown up, when there was sickness or worse and stayed right by the window and I could sit and watch them and they would not move. I think they were giving me a sign. I love to feed the birds and my husband built bird houses and also bird dens above our porch in the rafters. If winds come, the nests won't be touched.
