    It's fantastic! This may be an important piece of Americana that more than one museum would be interested in. I think he should contact Sotheby's or some other major auction venue. If you go to their site, there are often quilts offered that are not as old or as beautiful as this one.

    All I can say is WOW! What a gorgeous quilt!! I wouldn't sell it if I were him, but should bring in a lot of $$$.

    Beautiful! Definately get it appraised and documented. Then he can decide what a fair price is. He wouldn't want to go wrong and accept what HE thinks is a good price and then learn that he was way off the mark.

    Beautiful quilt! Seems like such a shame that it will be sold. But it is so beautiful and maybe someone else should have the opportunity to enjoy it too.
